1951 Ford F1 All Wheel Drive V8 5 speed shop truck. (SOLD)
This ’51 F1 was an Arkansas farm truck, a true “barn find” that was all original and nearly complete when I bought it. It still has it’s original paint, showing 65 years of hard use and weathering. The truck has been completely updated with modern suspension, brakes, and drivetrain. The body is mounted on a 2004 Ford Explorer chassis. It has front and rear independent suspension, four wheel power disc brakes with ABS, rack & pinion power steering, and all wheel drive. The Explorer’s aluminum block 4.6 V8 remains stock, but the automatic transmission was swapped out for a 5 speed manual from a 2003 F150. The Explorer dashboard, instruments, steering column, seats, and center console were used. The truck retains most of the modern features from the Explorer including dual zone electronic automatic temperature control with A/C, power adjustable heated leather seats, tilt column with steering wheel controls, cruise control, speed controlled delay wipers, power windows, auto dimming mirror, CD stereo with speed controlled volume, Passive anti-theft security system (chip key), tire pressure monitoring system, ABS, and full OBD-II diagnostic capabilities. The result is a truck that appears to be nearly stock but rides and handles like a modern truck.
